Happy New YearJan 24, 2009 - Although January is winding down, it still feels like a new start with this new year. After the hectic holiday season, this time of year is all about planning for me. I've completed my inventory, figured out what worked last year and am making plans for this coming lavender season. These are interesting and challenging times for all of us. As I'm looking at my product line and assessing my lavender field and gardens, I'm making plans with my customers and visitors in mind. Is there a product that I don't have? What new varieties of lavender are available for the field and nursery? What garden beds do I want to redesign? The cold weather forces me inside, and at times I find myself getting antsy, but I know the weather will soon warm, I'll be up to my elbows in product production, weeding and planting. So for a least a couple more weeks, I'll take the the slower, quieter calm of winter as I look forward to the frantic pace of summer. |
