Lavender Harvest is Complete

Aug 28, 2008 -

We finished our lavender harvest this week.  While it is a relief to have a good portion of the work done, it is always sad to look out at the field without its bloom. I'll get used to it in a week or so, but for now it just reminds me that summer is coming to a close.

The really good news is that we have beautiful lavender bundles now available.  We've de-budded and cleaned our first round of harvest, so we have freshly dried, very fragrant buds from this year's crop as well.

Summers always seem short in the Pacific Northwest and this one was no exception.  My fabulous summer crew is either back at school or getting ready to start next week.  As for me, fall means propagating, pruning and starting to make products for the holiday season.

Even though the lavender is gone, my gift shop is still open and filled with handcrafted lavender products.  If you're in the area, please come by and see us.
